Why play Ludo on LudoLive

How a turn works

BD
Red rolls a 4: token B lands on green and sends it home, so red rolls again. Token D needs exactly 3 to finish, so it can't use the 4. The full worked example
  1. Roll

Tap the dice. A token can only leave its yard on a six.

  2. Pick a token

Only tokens that can use the number glow. If just one can, it moves by itself.

  3. Move — and maybe capture

Land on an opponent outside a safe square and it goes back to its yard.

  4. Roll again?

A six, a capture or a finished token earns another roll — at most two sixes per turn.

What is LudoLive?

LudoLive — also written PlayLudoLive, after its home at playludolive.in — is Ludo, the race-home board game, made for the browser. Play a solo match against the AI, pass one device around the table, or open a private online room that friends join with a code, where every roll and capture appears on all screens as it happens. The same site also hosts Snakes & Ladders.

What's different about this Ludo

Six seats, three boards

Two to four players share the classic square board. Five players get a pentagon and six a hexagon, so every player keeps their own corner, colour and home column.

Setting up a table →

Rules that keep the game moving

No blocking, at most two sixes per turn instead of a three-six penalty, and extra rolls for captures and finished tokens. If your family plays differently, here's what changes.

Compare the rules →

Fairer-feeling dice

Each player draws from their own shuffled set of faces, so every number keeps its one-in-six share but twenty-roll droughts and runaway streaks are rare.

How the dice work →

Rooms that survive a dropped signal

Lose your connection or refresh mid-match and the game reconnects you to the same seat. A player who stays away doesn't stall the table: after 30 seconds their turn is skipped or finished for them.

How rooms reconnect →

An AI worth practising against

Easy plays loosely, Medium steers clear of danger, and Hard weighs every threat and always plays its best-scoring move. Face one to five AI rivals, offline once the page has loaded.
